Similar to original DOK-LOK restraints, the VBR-300 restrains the trailer by engaging the trailer’s Rear Impact Guard (RIG). Mechanical springs provide superior upward force and constant tension, allowing the unit to maintain safe, consistent contact with the RIG as trailer bed height fluctuates during loading and unloading. This feature is especially important when servicing air-ride trailers, where bed deflection can be extreme.
With only periodic housekeeping and semi-annual visual fluid level inspections, the unit requires virtually no maintenance. No adjustments are necessary. The steel housing provides protection from damage due to weather, dirt and debris.
The VBR-300 low-profile unit has a 10” stored height which allows it to accommodate declined dock approaches and most trailer rear impact guard heights. After the trailer has backed in to the loading dock, the 4¼” high angled barrier is hydraulically powered into position, securely holding the trailer’s rear impact guard. Highly visible interior and exterior red and green lights, and signs provide clear, reliable indication that the trailer has been properly and securely restrained. The solid-state, advanced control system provides the flexibility to meet the needs of today’s loading docks with universally understood control panel graphics.
